I am fascinated by the intricacies and hidden depths in everything I see. There is beauty in imperfection. Photography, to me, is about exploring how an immediate emotional response is provoked by the images I create.
The heart of my photographic practice lies in a strong intuition, a keen observation, a sense of irony and a desire to share what I see with others. My images are of people, places and objects that I become familiar with over time. I am a collector of stories, sharing snippets of them for their interest, value or beauty; put together, these collected works make a whole.
By photographing and sharing my experience of the world I aim to capture the moments in everyday life when it is realized that life is extraordinary. These moments are not constructed, rather I am aware of the tools I have and am ready to use them in situations as they present themselves. I believe that both my photographs and their contents are simply transitory artifacts: only as valued or as valuable as we choose make them.
